UGT has successfully implemented the large projects both in governmental and business sector: consulting, system integration, corporate solutions and provision of computer hardware. Large projects are conducted in every leading field of Georgia: banking and finance, telecommunication, retail, distribution and etc. Since 2004, the number of large projects has increased significantly in governmental sector.

2010 - Installation of Computing and Data Storage/Archive Systems at the United Financial Corporation. UGT’s engineers and technical consultants installed data storage and archive systems at the United Financial Corporation. It is based on Symantec’s Product, namely NetBackup. Thus, data storage and archiving is carried out by means of software on a magnetic tape, so called “magnetic tape library”. After implementation of this Project the Corporation received a system where the probability of losing data  was significantly diminished, which is an important factor for the United Financial Corporation and its clients.

 

2010 – Installation of computing systems at TBC Bank.  UGT installed computing systems at TBC Bank. Computing systems of such a level were installed in Georgia for the first time. Within this Project UGT’s specialists provided to the bank HP’s SuperDome so called High-End servers. Up to now server systems of this capacity have never been installed in Georgia. TbC Bank will use these servers for its main banking system because due to the significant growth of the Bank and the number of its clients and transactions the capacity of the existing servers was no longer satisfactory. SuperDomes have big capacity, high reliability and expansion possibilities. All the three factors are important for the Bank to be able to provide timely and uninterrupted services to its clients.

 

2010 – Innovation Center at the Ministry of Education and Science. Within the program that envisages installation of computers and modern technologies at schools, UGT, together with the Ministry of Education and Science, opened at the Ministry an Innovation Center so called Classroom of the Future”. The classroom has HP equipment and Microsoft software: an interactive electronic blackboard, computers, laptops, and projectors. An electronic blackboard is a novelty not only in Georgia but even at the world market. It has unique capabilities. All actions are carried out electronically. The equipment can be used for teaching any subject. When lessons are conducted in natural sciences the blackboard can be used as a virtual laboratory. It is switched to a computer that remembers all actions carried out on the blackboard.

 

2010 – UGT has finished installation of SafeNet Security Module (HSM) for the Processing Center of the Georgian Card. UGT has finished installation of SafeNet Security Module (HSM) for the Processing Center of the Georgian Card. This module provides full security for the processing company and its clients and minimizes the risk of confidential information leakage. The solution provided by UGT gives the Georgian Card an opportunity to increase safety and ensure high reliability of the Processing Center operation.
 
2010 – Technical support of the data base development at the National Center of Education Accreditation.  UGT’s employees developed the concept and a framework document for the registration system development and future support. Within this Project fundamental changes were made to the data base architecture as well as main processes.  Improved data base modules included: “The Register of Students and High Education Institutions”, “Grant Calculation and Accrual”, “Management of Student Mobility”, “The Register of Educational Specialties”, “Curriculum Register” etc. Besides, a pilot module for automatic exchange of information with universities and other institutions was created. The developed data base is one of the most important components of the system of the National Center of Education Accreditation. Its proper utilization will support improvement of the national education quality. 

 

2009 - Installation of a new system for registration of legal offences was at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.  AVIS – a new integrated information system for registration of administrative offences was put into operation at the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This system records administrative violations in a new electronic format. The new concept and architecture of the system were developed as a result of joint work carried out by UGT and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, with support of the US Government. The new system made it possible to consolidate data received from various sources into an integrated data base, thus making the process of controlling administrative offences much more effective.
 
2009 - Back up data center of the Civil Registration Agency.  UGT has built a back up data center of the Civil Registration Agency. The Data Center was placed in the Lamperts’ modular room, which is the first one in Transcaucasia. Lamperts is N1 manufacturer of such rooms in Europe. On the territory of the former Soviet Union there are only a few organizations that have modular Lamperts’ rooms. This is an isolated expandable area protected from all main risks (water, fire, explosion, shooting, grit, electromagnetic radiation etc.). Equipment was installed in the Data Center was   produced by UGT’s partner company Rittal and included: UPS, fireproof boxes, video monitoring and cooling systems.  
 
2009 - The Project of Upgrading Data Base Server and Modernization of Virtual Information at the Georgian Card.
 
Within this Project UGT experts and technical consultants implemented HP, EMC and Symantec licenses at the Georgian Card. Installations carried out within the framework of this Project included the following work:
• Upgrading of the main data servers  (FrontDB, BackDB);
• Upgrading of the data storage system;
• Migration of data and services to the renovated system;
• Modernization/upgrading of the virtual infrastructure;
• Migration of the virtual infrastructure data to the upgraded system;
• Installation of the centralized system for back up and archiving.

 

2009 - The IT Infrastructure Migration Project for BTA Bank. UGT implemented the IT Infrastructure migration Project for BTA Bank.
The Project envisaged IT Infrastructure migration to the new Central Office of BTA Bank with minimum interruptions of the existing services. Within this Project, migration of the computer network infrastructure and the telephone system was implemented. 
The work was done in three phases:
• Preliminary preparatory work;
• The infrastructure migration;
• Monitoring and optimization of the system

The year 2008. Installation of the engineering infrastructure in the new Central Office of the Civil Registration Agency for the server room equipped with modern systems.
UGT has developed a unique solution for the engineering infrastructure in the server room of the Civil Registration Agency, ensuring uninterrupted and safe operation of the computers and auxiliary equipment (servers, network, storage equipment, UPS). This solution envisages uninterrupted power supply, cooling, monitoring and reporting. UGT is implementing the Project with the use of products of the world’s leading companies: RITTAL, FG WILSON, and LINDNER. At present, the cooling, video-observation and fire prevention systems are being installed. These solutions will enable the Civil Registration Agency to create and expand a more safe centralized, integrated data base protected to the maximum possible extent from the main risks, such as overheating, water, fire, power supply interruptions and unsanctioned penetration.

 

The year 2008. Installation of automatic fire extinguishing systems in the Archive rooms of the Central Office of the Civil Registration Agency.
An automatic system for detecting and extinguishing fire was installed in the Archive rooms of the Central Office of the Civil Registration Agency. The system is based on solutions of the world’s leading brands SECURITON (Switzerland) and FIKe (Great Britain). The Registry’s archives that belong to a high risk group, are currently protected by the automatic fire detection and extinguishing system controlled from the control panel.

 

The year 2008. Consolidation of the data storage and reservation infrastructure and creation of the highly reliable Credit Info Decision Maker System for TBC Bank. 
The goal of the Project was renovation and modernization of TBC Bank’s existing computer systems as well as installation of a number of new systems.  Within this Project UGT’s experts and technical consultants carried out consolidation of the data storage system and the file server; The goals of the Project were: creation of a reliable computing platform for the Credit Info Decision Maker System; creation of an automated centralized system for reservation and restoration of critical business data. Taking into account its complexity, the Project allows to achieve simultaneously several important goals: improved efficiency and reliability of the Credit Info Decision Maker System; improved security and control of critical business-data; maximum automation and acceleration of data protection (reservation-restoration).

 

The year 2008. Renovation of the highly reliable computing system of UFC (JSC United Financial Corporation)
The Project envisaged reinstallation and reconfiguration of the cluster system, integration of the cluster software with the data storage system and testing of new cluster systems. Symantec licenses were also renewed within this Project. 

 

The year 2008. Arrangement of BTA Bank’s engineering infrastructure
Solution developed for the Computing Center of BTA Bank ensures uninterrupted and safe operation of the computers and auxiliary equipment (servers, network, storage equipment, UPS) achieved by means of providing uninterrupted power supply, cooling, fire detection and extinction, monitoring of external conditions and reporting. Besides, this solution provides for easy expansion of the system in future.

Besides, UGT developed the plan of the computer and telephone networks which will enable the operators to control the network without interruptions and provide appropriate services to the Bank’s employees and servers.

 

The year 2008. Financial Monitoring Service – arrangement of structured cable systems, provision of active equipment and arrangement of a telephone system.
The Project envisaged arrangement of structured cable systems, provision of active equipment and arrangement of a telephone system for the Financial Monitoring Service. Implementation of this Project had become necessary because the Financial Monitoring Service was moving into a new building without any communications. An integrated system was designed, cable systems were built, network equipment was supplied, installed and configured. Besides, a modern multifunctional telephone system was put in place in order to provide employees with communication means. UGT implemented the Project using products of the following vendors: Avaya, Cisco Systems, Efapel, Panduit, and Inform.

 

The year 2008. The Ministry of Finance – Server Migration Project.
This Project envisaged migration of servers from four institutions of the Ministry of Finance to the new building of the Ministry. Servers from all four institutions (the Central Office, Tax Department, Customs Department, State Treasury), their structure and interconnections were researched in detail; the migration plan was developed and stage-by-stage migration of the servers was implemented taking into account the working process of the Ministry of Finance, i.e. the work of each structural unit was minimally interrupted.

 

The year 2008. Consolidated Data Storage Infrastructure at Bank Republic
Within the Project high performance data storage system was implemented and integrated with existing server infrastructure by means of consolidated Storage Ares Network.  The Project was implemented using EMC products.

 

The year 2008. Implementation of Integrated Telephone Network Infrastructure in Tao Bank.
Unified communication system was implemented within the Project, connecting the Head Office and 17 branches of Tao Bank into an integrated telephone network system. As a result of the Project, communication between Tao Bank’s employees improved significantly. Management of the integrated system has been simplified, because of the centralized management system.  The system allowed Tao Bank to establish communication between its branches without paying telephone fees. The system is connected to the centralized data base, which allows the user to display the desirable information about the IP telephone owner. In addition, the implemented system has a conference call function. The Project was implemented using the products of the following vendors: Cisco Systems, HP, 3Com.

 

The year 2008. "Georgian Card” Data Center Modernization Project.  
The Data Center Modernization Project envisaged replacement of the hardware and software products existing at Georgian Card Data Center with new products.  Within this Project, the servers and operation systems were installed; the data storage systems were configured; Special software - Veritas was installed; Oracle data base was installed; migration of so called back data base from the old to the new system and the server clustering was performed. The Project was implemented using the products of the following vendors: HP, EMC, Veritas.

 

The year 2008.  Financial Monitoring Agency – Implementation of a structured cable system, installation of active network equipment and arrangement of a telephone system.
The Project envisaged implementation of a structured cable system at the Financial Monitoring Agency, installation of active network equipment and the telephone system. Implementation of this Project had become necessary because the Agency moved into a new building, with no means of communication. An integrated system was designed, cable systems were installed, and the network equipment was delivered, installed and configured.  At the same time a modern multifunctional telephone system with was put in place ensuring internal communication of the Agency employees. The Project was implemented using the products of the following vendors:  Avaya, Cisco Systems, Efapel, Panduit, Inform.

 

The year 2008. The Ministry of Finance – Building of Engineering Infrastructure for Data Center. 
The project envisaged building of engineering infrastructure in the existing data center of the Ministry. Implemented work included both construction works (suspended ceiling, elevated floor) and installation of special cable channels, installation of precision cooling system, fire detection and extinction system, integrated video camera and monitoring system and access control. Besides this, the data center was equipped with a monitoring control panel by means of which it is possible to control and monitor all systems. The Project was implemented using the products of the following vendors: Inform; local subcontractors.

 

The year 2007. Implementation of a Highly Available Consolidated Infrastructure at Kartu Bank.
Highly available consolidated infrastructure was implemented at Kartu Bank. Infrastructure provides high performance of all components of the data storage system. Also high performance data area network was deployed.  Special protection technologies were provided ensuring availability of the system even in case of a failure of one of its components.  The Project was implemented using HP products.

 

The year 2007. Implementation of Financial Management, Clients and Suppliers Management, Sales and Analysis System at Pharmaceutical Company GPC.
The installed system will give the Company a new competitive advantage, insure optimization of key business processes and increase the service quality. The Project was implemented using Microsoft products.

 

The year 2007. Information System Implementation for Management of the Ministry of Defense
A complex, multi-component and multi-stage Project of an information system implementation for management of the Ministry of Defense has been going on since 2006. At this stage the work of the first two phases has been completed, including automation of logistical processes based on the MySAP ERP system platform and approximation with the modern NATO standards. Within this Project, the Ministry’s communication and data infrastructure was built in the whole country. In future, this Project envisages automation of the finance, HR and document flow management processes. The Project was implemented using the products of the following vendors: SAP, Symantec, Oracle, EMC, Documentum.

 

2007 year. Implementation of integrated data base and corporate web-portal for the Ministry of Finance
UGT implemented and deployed a data warehouse and a unique structure data storage system, which gathered all electronic resources in one information field from all over Georgia, in the central apparatus and structural units of the Ministry. Implementing the corporate web-portal integrated the information data base of tax department, customs and treasure department, simplifying the searching process for normative, legislative and other documentations.

 

2007 year. Implementation of high-fidelity computing systems for the United Financial Corporation (UFC)

UGT experts implemented a high-fidelity computing systems and its back up system for the financial processing centre, UFC. “United Financial Corporation” has been equipped with a computing centre, which enables all components in the system to operate at a high speed with efficient and expedient communication between them. The back up of system increased its reliability.

 

2006 year. Patrol Police Communication Pilot Project for the patrol police mobile groups
Description of the project: Patrol police was equipped with the information-communication systems and processing centre. The complex data retrieval system is already available for the mobile groups of the patrol police. Using fixed on-board computers and the program software designed by UGT, mobile crews within the patrol police are now able to easily access the database, where he/she can find detailed information about car registration data. This system enables patrol police to easily find stolen vehicles and to determine its’ owner, to receive appropriate information from the database in the real time and without additional inquires.

 

2006 year. Georgian Windows XP localization project
Description of the project: 2220 words and 80 000 phrases (including 355 words) were translated within Georgian Windows XP localization project. Consulting group staffed with technicians, philologists and Georgian language specialists was set up within the Georgian Windows XP localization project. With the help of site created specifically for the Georgian Windows XP (Beta) version all interested people participated in this project. 

 

2006 year. Evaluation and recommendation of the Informational Technology development strategy of the civil registry of  the Ministry of Justice
Description of the project: UGT experts presented for the Ministry of Justice detailed alternatives and substantiated arguments on rendered recommendations. Within the project Information Technology Concept of the strategy has been created, as well as the Project Implementation components of the ICT Strategy and general system architecture.

 

2006 year. Project carried out for the Bank of Republic
Description of the project: Evaluation of Informational Technology structure has been carried out in the bank, as well as the analyses of the needs. Short term program has been worked out.

 

2006 year. Project carried out for  the company "Arsi"
Description of the project: In Architecture and construction company ‘Arsi UGT experts evaluated current business processes and the needs for it’s’ automation

 

2006 year. To work out a strategy in the IT field for Georgian state administration
Description of the project: UGT worked out a 4 year lasting strategy in the IT field for Georgian State Administration.

2006 year. Computerization of Georgian schools
Description of the project: Within the ‘Deer Leap’ program of Georgian Ministry of Education and Science, UGT has provided computer equipment to more than 100 schools all over Georgia, including Khutaisi, Telavi, Gori, Zugdidi, Batumi, Akhalqalaqi, and ‘Khodoris Xeoba’ and Sagarejo schools. In addition to providing the hardware and installing the equipment, this project also includes technical service until the end of 2006.

 

2006 year. UGT completed the implementation of high tech Server Based Computing system in the TBC Bank
Description of the project: Leader IT company in Georgia – UGT completed the implementation of high tech Server Based Computing system in the TBC Bank. This system is hardware and software package and intends to move computing resources fully on the servers. TBC Bank terminals are now protected against viruses. Due to centralization of data, probability of information leakage has been reduced to the minimum. Centralization of computing resources has led to the simplification of management systems. Instead of hundreds of computers IT administrator has now to control only several servers.

 

2006 year. A duplication system - SAN Array Mirroring - based on the network of data storage and processing (SAN – Storage Area Network)
Description of the project: UGT IT experts created a duplication system - SAN Array Mirroring - based on the network of data storage and processing (SAN – Storage Area Network). This duplication system is ensured by special safety technologies, which continue operating even during accidents. Under this system, the customers of Georgian Card can utilize Georgian Bank, Post Bank and Bank Republic ATMs.

 

2006 year. New system of storage and reservation called EVA 4000 in the Bank of Georgia
Description of the project: New system of storage and reservation called EVA 4000 provides constant access to data at the bank. Through this system the effectiveness of storage and reservation has been increased. All informational processes are now automated and complete reliability of date storage system is now insured. Now the time required for reservation and archiving has been decreased due to the new data system and the load on the local network and server has been brought to a minimum. This system also allows quicker data exchange.

 

2005 year. Implimentation of SAN (Storage Area Network) National Bank of Georgia
Description of the project: UGT deployed the new data storage SAN (Storage Area Networking) technology in the National Bank of Georgia. . SAN (Storage Area Network) ensures high productivity of centralized data storage facilities – disk arrays. This storage technology comprises a consolidated, duplicated system that facilitates internal information management security and ensures high availability.

 

2005 year. Billing and accounting support system imlementation in TbilGazi
Description of the project: UGT deployed billing and account supprot system at JSC “TbilGazi”. The result of our work is coordinated and automated reliable system. System enables processing of data of 50% of Tbilisi’s population. Regular monitoring, flexible security policy, reliable infrastructure and world experience make possible uninterrupted functioning of the system.

 

2005 year. Data prcessing system implementation in Georgian Card
Description of the project: UGT deployed N+1 cluster system that would be based on HP, RedHat Linux, Oracle and Veritas products. Established data processing and storage system (SAN – Storage Area Network) combined servers and tape drives. Each component of the system is protected, and Veritas Cluster Server provides uninterruptible functioning of the system even in the case of break down of one of the components. This ensures permanent functionality of the system even in hazardous situations.

 

2005 year. Microsoft Navision Financial Management Module Implementation at pharmaceutical company GPC
Description of the project: Pharmaceutical company GPC needed a business solution that could automate distribution and financial processes and improve the overall effectiveness of the organization. From January, 2005, Corporate Solutions Department started the Navision system implementation at GPC one of the most successful pharmaceutical company in Georgia. UGT studied the needs of GPC and planned the system implementation stages.

 

2005 year. Microsoft CRM and Avaya Integrated Business Solution implementation at “Call Center Georgia”
Description of the project: Project was implemented jointly by Infrastructure Solutions Department and Corporate Solutions Department. At “Call Center Georgia”, Corporate Solutions Department implemented Microsoft CRM system. As a result, “Call Center Georgia” has significantly increased company sales.

 

2005 year. Education Project – NAEC computerization
Description of the project: Provision of computer equipment, workstations, servers and peripherals for NAEC (Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia) intended for national examination activities

 

2005 year. Computerization of Penitentiary System of Georgia within the reform of Penitential System
Description of the project: We have accomplished provision of servers, workstations, computers and server equipment. Under special offers we have managed program provision of register of prisoners, document circulation and automation of financial administration, which are implemented in the institutions of penitential systems. Appropriate guarantee service is provided by the Guarantee Centre. 

 

2005 year. DAI – Project of Georgia State Assistance
Description of the project: UGT accomplished provision of HP server equipment, workstations and peripheral equipment to the State Chancellery. Appropriate guarantee service is provided by the Guarantee Centre.

Description of the project: Provision of computer equipment to the State Energy Distribution Company, accomplished by ESBI.

Description of the project: Provision of HP computer equipment and service.

 

2005 year. Computerization of  Prosecutor General s’ Office
Description of the project: We have accomplished provision of servers, workstations  and peripheral equipment to the Prosecutor General’s Office. Appropriate guarantee service is provided by the Guarantee Centre.

 

2005 year. Agriculture an Irrigation Development Project
Description of the project: Provision of computer equipment, workstations, servers and peripherals to the Ministry of Agriculture, Institute of Horticulture and Institute of Agriculture. Design and installation of local network had been accomplished at the Institute and University. Appropriate guarantee service is provided by the Guarantee Centre.

 

2004 year. Microsoft Business Solutions CRM Implementation at TBC Bank
Description of the project: UGT implemented Microsoft CRM Sales Module at TBC Bank. Also, UGT developed the additional functions according to TBC Bank needs. As a result, bank employees can manage the sales process related to both products and services effectively, including:

  • Segmenting and targeting potential groups of customers for specific products and services.
  • Capturing and resolving all service incidents in a timely manner.
  • Understanding bank sales and customer service performance.

 

2004 year. Launch of Internet Portal at the Association of Dealers
Description of the project: With the help of Internet Portal launched by Corporate Solutions Department, representatives of the Association of Dealers were able to consolidate organization’s important information and share information easily across employees, clients and partners.

 

2003 year. Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan Pipeline Project
Description of the project: Provision and installation of computer, server equipment and software, network and telecommunications equipment, their configuration and service in Georgia and Azerbaijan.

 

2003 year. USAID – SETA – Computerization of universities in Armenia
Description of the project: Provision of computer, server and telecommunications equipment to three universities of Armenia  - SEUA, YSU, YSIE. Installation and set-up of supplied equipment, service provision.

 

2003 year. Irrigation and Drainage Community Development Project
Description of the project: Provision of computer equipment, workstations and peripherals to the Ministry of Agriculture.
